Vietnam tourism continues to recover strongly

In the first 5 months of 2022, international visitors reached 365.3 thousand, 4.5 times higher than the same period in 2021. Mr. Yoo Jin Woo, a Korean tourist, said that Vietnam’s COVID-19 prevention results have helped his family feel secure when choosing Da Nang as a long-term travel destination. “I am very impressed with many good tourism services here. My family and I will definitely return to Vietnam soon,” Yoo Jin Woo added.

Foreign tourists come Vietnam

According to experts, tourism is an integrated economic sector, closely linked to other sectors of the economy. After a long time of “freezing” because of COVID-19, Vietnam’s tourism is recovering strongly with impressive numbers. Localities and tourism businesses are also constantly creating new tourism programs in accordance with community cultural tourism and health care tourism. The recovery of tourism industry has brought job opportunities for tens of thousands of workers both directly and indirectly.

In 2022, the General Department of Tourism has set target of attracting more than five million international visitors and serving 60 million domestic tourists. Total sales revenue from tourism sector will reach about 400,000 billion VND.

To achieve this goal, Vietnam continues to deploy a communication campaign “Live fully in Vietnam” communication campaign on tourism websites. In addition, Vietnam promotes tourism programs through international communication channels and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

In the second half of 2022, localities will continue to focus on investing, developing and renewing mainstream tourism product lines. In particular, sea and island tourism products have been shaped more clearly with the formation of high-quality hotels, resorts, and entertainment, meeting international standards. Sereral complementary products will also be interested in developing such as sports tourism, medical tourism, adventure tourism. All of these will aim to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism in the international market .

Recovery of tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic is an inevitable trend. Also, it is a common goal of many countries in the region. Therefore, continuing to maintain the recovery rate of tourism will contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
